It's been a while, since I uploaded something...the winter didn't really offer me many decent days to take pictures, and work kept me quiet busy...I just did something for work today, and decided to also do something that I can upload to DA.
Some who got into conversations with me, know that I like to talk about the technical aspects of photography, mainly to learn by discussion setting decisions.
So I decided to upload this little comparison shot to show how much a wide open aperture does affect your picture in comparison with a rather small one.
There was no post-processing in photoshop involved, I just put together the two images. You can see that a wide open aperture will give you a very bokehlicious background, even if the background is as narrow as in my example to the subject. The downside is, that it can be difficult to get what you want in focus, duo to the narrow depth of field, making it easy for your subject to be out of focus. A high shutter speed for slightly moving subjects or a tripod are useful.
